In most infoLinks upgrade to the AFS driver will address the problem. Please follow the instructions on this page to upgrade the driver.
The AFS/AFS2k driver is a part of a CD Recording engine from Oak Technology, Inc., (now Zoran, Inc.), maintained by Simpli Software, Inc. This CD Recording engine is used in several software applications. Your computer may have been shipped with one of these applications.
Please contact if you need help determining which application installed on your computer uses the AFS/AFS2k driver.
Try disabling the AFS driver. This will determine whether crashes of your computer are indeed related to AFS.

You may consider trying an unqualified version of the driver (if there is one available). "Unqualified" in this case means that this software already passed our internal tests, but now is being qualified by our partners who ship their software with our CD recording engine.

We apologize for any confusion that this causes. Strict versioning and error reporting requires us to maintain separate versions for the installer and device driver.
The installer itself is a quite complicated utility. It is possible that the installer will be modified while the driver will remain the same.
When a modification to the installer is made, we have to increment it's version to distinguish the new utility from the old one. If the driver binary does not change, it obviously has to carry its "old" version number over to the new installer.
